Role
We are looking to bolster our client's commercial team within their UK Rail business unit with the appointment of a Commercial Manager. The Commercial Lead will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximizing commercial returns and managing risk.

Key Responsibilities
1. Liaise with the customer, his representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies.
2. Cost and value management for project, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place.
3. Financial reporting for project.
4. Change management for project: record change and allocate responsibility. Evaluate/recover any change that is not the companies risk/liability (including recovery from 3rd parties).
5. Risk and opportunity management for project: management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return as well as identification and implementation of mitigation measures.
6. Manage commercial team to ensure delivery of key responsibilities and develop their knowledge.
Qualifications/Training
1. Membership of a Professional Institution - such as SCSI or RICS.
2. Behavioural Based Safety (BBS).
3. Minor project work - building and civils.
4. Work winning.
5. Reviewing T&C's.
6. Managing and reporting on a portfolio of work.
7. Developing a team.
