Job Summary The Patient Support Team member will fall into the Scanning sub department as well as taking on some additional administrative duties. We do have an additional 5 administration sub departments within the Patient Support Team at Alnwick Medical Group. Key tasks and Responsibilities Scan and read code relevant information from patient clinical records into the practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the practice scanning and coding protocol. As well as other roles within the scanning sub-department. Review medical records and produce an accurate summary of the patients medical history. Sorting patient records and letters. Reviewing medical records to produce a comprehensive summary of patients medical history. Ensuring knowledge of the Read Codes system. Inputting data using the Read Codes system. Retrieving patient medical records and interpreting data for the use of clinical staff members Auditing data collection to ensure Practice standards are met. Ensuring that medical records are complete and accurate ahead of each consulting session. Maintain familiarity with scanning and coding protocols. Maintaining patient registration and recall systems Minute taking for multi-agency & inhouse meetings. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the post. Ad-hoc administration duties & be prepared to help with cover in all departments of the Patient Support Administration Team.
