To help the Team, we are looking to employ a new housekeeper for Critical Care. The role is both patient and non-patient facing and requires physical health to move equipment/stores within lifting policy terms.

Main duties of the job
* The post holder will work as an integral part of the clinical ward/department team and be responsible for the coordination of all patient facilities/services in the ward area, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
* The main element of the role is ensuring and supporting the delivery of cleaning, catering, and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patients' needs, as determined by the department sister/charge.
* The post holder will work cooperatively with colleagues, as part of the team, and perform additional duties as directed by the theatre clinical team, to enable nursing staff to undertake direct patient care.
* Support and deliver infection prevention and control practices and procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment and support clinical staff to deliver safe and effective care.

Person Specification
Qualification(s) and Professional Training
* NVQ or equivalent in relevant subject.
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Experience and Knowledge
* Previous experience in hospitality/customer-facing or care environment.
* Experience of working in a team.
* Supervisory experience in the NHS or similar environment.
* Experience of undertaking a housekeeper role.
Skills and Abilities
* The candidate must have knowledge of the following or be prepared to undertake the relevant training: Basic Health & Safety, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Basic Food Hygiene, Customer Care.
* Basic technology skills.
* Able to effectively work as part of a team.
* Able to follow and carry out requests in line with role and responsibility.
* Knowledge of the NHS Standards of Cleanliness.

* Bank Holiday/weekend working as required by ward/department.
* Working with hazardous chemicals.
* Able to work flexibly during work hours to cover department needs.
