Demonstratea thorough understanding of Business Rates administration beproactive in learning of new legislation or guidance when required.Effectively communicating with internal departments and externalagencies to resolve issues. Allocate work efficiently providingguidance on the interpretation of regulations and legislation tomeet ambitious collection targets. Requirements: Demonstrableexperience in leading and coordinating relevant services with atrack record of supervising supporting and monitoring staffeffectively. Strong relationship management skills with the abilityto communicate clearly with the ability to foster collaborativeworking relationships both internally and externally. Commitment toexcellence with a proactive attitude towards delivering outstandingservices in challenging circumstances and tight timeframes.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with theability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.Indepth knowledge of Business Rates administration and the abilityto navigate regulatory frameworksconfidently.
Experience of working in an Income & Debt related role in alocal authority environment. Ability to prioritize competingpressures and to maximize the effectiveness of the team s outcomes.Excellent IT/Technical skills, knowledge. Proactive development ofskills and knowledge. Experience and competence in all aspects ofbusiness rates administration. Experience of managing staff fairlyand consistently to get the best out of each team member.Well-developed written and oral communications skills with theability to communicate complex matters effectively to a broad rangeof people. A comprehensive understanding of business rateslegislation, case law, practice, and application in a localauthority environment. Detailed knowledge of best practiceapproaches in revenues billing and collection within a localauthority environment.
