EQUANS is looking for a HVAC Engineer on a permanent basis. This would be based in Liverpool working for our Knowsley Schools contract. This would include working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
1. Accountable for ensuring all Spaces, Environmental/Temperature Control rooms and equipment are available for end users, keeping down times to an absolute minimum during breakdowns.
2. Fault find on all A/C units, refrigeration systems, chiller plant and AHU's across the contract.
3. Ensure the site's F-Gas logbook is kept up to date, and all losses, recoveries and additions are recorded appropriately.
4. Be responsible for the maintenance and operational upkeep of portable and fixed air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
5. Plan, oversee and work with all subcontractors during service visits associated with HVAC systems.
6. Recover, repair, pressure test, vacuum dehydrate, charge and re-commission A/C units as required.
7. Adaptable and able to undertake any other engineering task as required by the Account Manager or Technical Services Manager.
8. Ensure that PPM and Reactive jobs are processed.
9. Defects are diagnosed and reported.
10. Faults are repaired in a timely manner and in budget.
11. Complete daily job sheets and PPM logs via PDA/tablet in real time using CAFM systems.
12. Responsibilities will also include being a member of the on-call rota for the contract.
Client / Customer:
1. Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests
2. Coordinate quotations with the contract manager
3. Use preferred suppliers where possible
Helpdesk - PPM:
1. Support the Helpdesk: in servicing and breakdowns
2. Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract
Compliance:
1. Achieve appointment as Refrigeration Responsible and Competent Person
2. Complete all operational Logs, F-gas reports and job sheets via CAFM and compliance systems
3. Production of information for quotations
4. Production and collation of Condition / Dilapidation Reports
5. Complete report accident, near misses returns in a timely manner
6. Ensure the site supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur
7. Completion of electronic reports for compliance
SHEQ:
1. Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
2. Ensure PPE is safe to use
3. Ensure your test equipment is within calibration
4. Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works
Impact:
1. Working to high standard of Building Maintenance, we require a fully reliable air conditioning engineer who can work on own initiative or within a team environment. Produce high quality reports of their findings.
2. Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations within the School Buildings.
3. Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are in place.
4. Issuing of relative working permits.
5. Carry out repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on plant.
6. Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this specific environment.
7. Carry out proactive plant monitoring activities to ensure efficient utilization of plant and equipment
8. Interrogation of operational information systems to support daily operations as well as fault diagnosis
9. Complete the relevant paperwork and report diligently.
10. Any other relevant duties that may be required, some of which may be outside normal working hours.

1. Maintain all documentation and records to the highest standard
2. Understand the contracts and obligations
3. Project a professional image of Equans to external and internal customers, this is to include clear channels of communication
4. Other tasks as directed by Line Management

Qualifications or Required Experience:
1. Recognized EITB or CITB apprenticeship or other similar approved training or further education qualifications in an appropriate discipline
2. Minimum air conditioning engineer qualifications to NVQ level 2
3. Fully conversant with all major manufacture's systems and equipment
4. 18th Edition
5. Fault-finding and practical skills
6. Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team
7. Very strong Excel and IT skills
8. Driving License essential
9. Ability to pass enhanced DBS checks due to the nature of the sites
