Foliation Officer Location: Euston Road, NW1, London Job Type: Full-time, Office-based Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday Contract Length: 2 months minimum, with immediate start We are seeking an experienced Foliation Officer or a professional with a similar background (e.g., Cataloguer) to join our team at the British Library. This role is crucial for supporting the Library’s Qatar project, focusing on the foliation of material from the India Office Records and Private Papers. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment, enhanced by fantastic office facilities. Day-to-day of the role: Responsible for the foliation of archival material selected for cataloguing and digitisation by the project, adhering to Programme Guidelines. Resolve errors related to foliation tasks. Manage your own time effectively to meet project deadlines. Work closely with a small team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of archival materials. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a Foliation Officer, Cataloguer, or similar role within a library, museum, gallery, or archive setting. Demonstrated interest in working with archival materials. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
