* Fantastic opportunity to work within a growing team and alongside an established Financial Lines team
* Opportunity to handle D&O, Cyber and PI policies, from SME up to large corporate accounts as well as supporting a large and growing Financial Lines portfolio
* Hybrid working with up to 2 days a week in our Stratford upon Avon office
About the role
Just over 90 people work with us here in Wholesale Broking and Outplacement Services and, it’s fair to say, our remit is a varied and very important one. We work on an unusually wide range of insurance subject matter, from Complex Casualty to Financial Risk, Marine Hull to Animal Disease.
Over the last 15 + years, we have established a significant Financial Lines book of business across the 3 Finpro lines, which is growing rapidly. We work with a number of financial lines insurers to find the right coverage for our Agent’s customer, building some great relationships in the marketplace.
You'll be involved in the day-to-day liaison with our Agents and Financial Lines Insurers, in the activities of obtaining quotes, inviting and renewing policies, as well as some claims administration. You'll support our Agents with finding the right insurance solution, helping them understand the coverage and answering technical queries. You'll be supported by our Financial Lines product managers and consultants on a day to day basis, ensuring you have the support you need. With NFU Mutual renewal retentions sitting at 95%, we’re clearly doing a lot right!
And as well as supporting our NFU Mutual Agency network and Regional Sales teams in acquiring and retaining customers, we support Head Office Underwriting’s strategic goals, and facilitate and provide the outplacement of large, complex, high risk Commercial and Specialty Risks for our Agency network through the Composite and London Insurance Markets.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. Further information can be found in the FCA Handbook.
About you
You’ll have recent experience of working in broking or underwriting with good knowledge of commercial insurance. This will also include excellent knowledge of Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers and/or Cyber Insurance.
As well as the above you’ll also bring:
* Any experience in Etrade / Portal systems would be a great advantage
* A good understanding of presenting risks to the market would be beneficial
* A keen eye for detail and working to tight deadlines
* The ability to actively listen and communicate effectively with customers, ensuring clear understanding and fostering strong, lasting relationships.
* The ability to manage multiple tasks by assessing urgency and importance, ensuring that critical tasks are completed first and deadlines are met.

We pride ourselves on being “a great place to work” and we're one of only 60 companies across the globe to receive a Gallup Exceptional Workplace 2024 award, and one of only two companies to receive the award for the ninth consecutive year. We were also named in the LinkedIn Top 25 Companies List 2021, the Glassdoor Best Places to Work UK List 2023 and 2024, and were recognised as a certified UK Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
We offer a supportive culture where we empower and inspire our people to perform, offer them opportunities to grow, and recognise and reward their contribution. Our people are proud to work for a company that respects them and their communities, and they trust us to be financially sustainable, so we are successful now and in the future.
We are a leading provider of General Insurance and Financial Services. From our strong farming roots we’ve grown to become a UK-wide organisation, turning over £1 billion annually. Yet success hasn’t gone to our heads. We’re proud to remain completely customer focused, down-to-earth and committed to the rural communities we’ve grown from.
Our ethos - of trust, respect and personal service - lies at the heart of all we do and has seen us build an enviable reputation for exceptional member loyalty. Though we’ve been in business for over 110 years, we have big ambitions for the future. And that’s why we’re looking for talented people to join our growing organisation. Talented people like you.
