With over 20 years' experience, this market-leading Civil Engineering and Groundworks company are subcontractors to both regional and national housebuilders. With a turnover of c£70 million they are financially stable and growing organically. Projects include 278 works, residential groundworks, footpaths, roads, sewers and earthworks.
Responsibilities:
1. Using excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to build relationships and manage suppliers, negotiating prices, and placing orders.
2. Managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials.
3. Liaising with the on-site teams to source the most cost-effective materials, of the highest quality.
4. Monitoring the performance, quality, prices and development of suppliers.
5. Identifying new potential suppliers and products.
6. Preparing quotations and proposals.
7. Attending team meetings and site visits.
8. Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency.
Requirements:
1. Proven buying experience, with a focus on groundworks, civil engineering, infrastructure projects.
2. Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully leading complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
