Corporate Operations supports the University, its Schools and Professional Services to deliver strategic change programmes and projects. The team provides a range of services such as programme and project management, process redesign and change management.
We are looking for a Project Manager with excellent problem-solving skills, who can support colleagues across the university in delivering high-profile corporate projects which will enhance student experience, business processes and introduce new ways of working to support the University's ambition to become more efficient.
The post holder will:
1. Work alongside senior stakeholders in driving strategic initiatives through to successful completion, making key decisions on project direction and outputs, whilst monitoring and reporting progress within an appropriate project framework.
2. Plan and manage complex strategic initiatives, with a focus on ensuring benefits are identified and measured to provide assurance of value added and success.
3. Work collaboratively with Executive Sponsors, taking operational responsibility for facilitating the delivery of the allocated projects and programmes.
4. Support the ongoing development and improvement of the service in-line with its delivery plan and the needs of the university.
Applicants will hold an honours degree or equivalent or have equivalent relevant professional experience. You should also have experience of successfully managing workstreams or projects in close collaboration with key stakeholders such as senior management, administrators and professional or technical staff.
Experience of managing projects with differing technical content (e.g. continuous improvement, IT projects, or cultural change) would be an advantage.
Utilising excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will have an ability to convey complex information to different audiences as well as build productive relationships with colleagues of varying degrees of seniority.
A high level of motivation, independence and commitment to deliver are core requirements for success in this position. You will also need to be adaptable, resourceful and a natural problem solver with a gift for operating effectively in a changing environment and a passion for making the University of Central Lancashire an even better place to study, work and do business.
This position is based in Preston with the option of hybrid remote working.
