MacKenzie King are working with one of our trusted clients to find an Operational Finance Assistant to join their team based in Ipswich. As an Operational Finance Assistant, the successful candidate will work as part of a team of assistants processing client funds including postings to ledger systems, making payments and completing reconciliations of client accounts. It is also the responsibility of the Operational Finance Assistant to prepare robust financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis. The successful candidate will work to answer client queries whilst also supporting the wider businesses internal stakeholders and other members of the Operational Finance team. Key Responsibilities Daily preparation of client cashbooks. Daily bank reconciliation. Daily clearing Client suspense accounts. Investigating and responding to Client and internal queries. Preparation, input and checking of transfers and payments. Payment of invoices, delivering remittance information and investigating queries. Preparation of Financial Reporting Packs and general ledger reports to clients for use in their own account records & statutory reporting. Preparation of investor reports to Trustees & other 3rd parties as required. Calculation and initiation of daily transfer of investor cash for structured finance deals. Assist with audit queries. To prepare daily BACS reports. Essential Experience AAT qualified or part qualified. Recent experience in an accounting or cashiering function. Experience of bank reconciliation work. Experience of financial services organisations desirable but not essential. High level of accuracy and numeracy. Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts. A good ability to interpret written, spoken and numerical data. Strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Strong IT skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Aptitude to multitask and be highly adaptable in a fast-paced environment. A desire to learn and take on new systems and concepts quickly as well as critically evaluating where appropriate.
