Job Title: Senior GIS Specialist
Location: Glasgow or London
Salary: from £54,800, up to 15% bonus and health cover

A Senior GIS Specialist is a key role within the Offshore renewable business, providing bespoke geospatial services to large-scale offshore wind projects in the UK, Europe, and overseas. This role specifically supports GIS services to Scottish Power Renewable’s offshore wind project East Anglia Two.
The individual will be part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world. The position may require frequent travel to various locations in the UK and overseas, and the individual should be capable of managing teams working at different project locations.
What you’ll be doing:
1. The provision of GIS drafting/cartographic services including web GIS applications and dashboards for the purpose of supporting offshore windfarms under construction.
2. The geographical translation of third-party and project datasets (offshore and onshore) from different global and local coordinate systems.
3. The maintenance and updates of GIS databases including enterprise GIS databases with project data deliverables and third-party data.
4. The provision of GIS analyses and data processing services to support the construction stage of offshore wind projects.
5. The creation and maintenance of project geospatial data and metadata.
6. The development of novel methodologies for the advancement of geospatial data analysis for project use and completion of appropriate supporting documentation.
7. Development of tools for a wide technical and non-technical user-base that enhance productivity.
8. The provision of guidance, advice, feedback, and support to junior members of staff through mentorship.
What you’ll bring:
1. Educated to Honours Degree level in GIS, or a similar appropriate subject, or demonstrable working experience.
2. Demonstrable experience in the offshore wind industry or other renewable construction sector.
3. Knowledge of Python (ArcGIS) with demonstrable skills in working with Arcpy library including mapping, cursors, dictionaries, lists, functions, etc.
4. Experience with using ESRI enterprise server deployment, including publishing of feature and raster image services.
5. The capacity to work independently to provide technical solutions to engineering challenges using GIS.
6. Good digital cartographic and map production skills, and experience of quality assuring contractor and internal drawings.
7. Ability to work in a team and in a client office environment.
8. Good written, presentational, and customer-facing skills regarding GIS and Engineering.
9. Experience working with Spatial Analysis for Hydrology, Bathymetric surveys, Geomorphology, and earthmoving estimations.
10. Experience working with SSDM (Seabed Survey Data Model) and offshore geophysical survey deliverables.
11. Demonstrable experience and proficiency in the use of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS desktop.
