My client is a well-established SME manufacturing business with a global presence, supplying humidity control and moisture protection products across multiple industries, including defence, packaging, power generation, electronics, and chemicals. Since its inception in 1952, the company has grown into a global leader, working with partners and agents worldwide. It also operates a sales office in France to support its expansion across Europe.
The Role
My client is looking for a highly organised Stores & Logistics operative to manage daily operations within its main stores. The role primarily involves overseeing goods in and goods out while ensuring smooth stock management and logistics. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team member to handle a diverse supply chain, with parts arriving from across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing daily store operations, including receiving and dispatching goods.
2. Handling stock ranging from small components (e.g., O-rings) to large palatalised drums stored on 6m high racking.
3. Using OrderWise, an integrated stock management system, to track sales, purchasing, and inventory.
4. Ensuring accurate stock control through regular checks and monthly reporting using Excel.
5. Maintaining batch numbers and lot traceability for quality control.
6. Conducting physical stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
7. Liaising with suppliers to progress orders and resolve any quality issues.
8. Communicating regularly with the purchasing and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
9. Adhering to ISO9001-2008 quality standards.
Requirements
1. Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or logistics role.
2. Strong organisational and time-management skills to prioritise urgent tasks.
3. Experience with stock management systems (OrderWise knowledge is advantageous).
4. Familiarity with quality control processes and standards (ISO9001-2008 preferred).
5. Valid Counterbalance and Reach Truck forklift licence (must be up to date).
6. Good communication skills and ability to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
