Job Description: HVAC Maintenance Technician
We are hiring immediately for full-time HVAC TECH positions at various locations within the school district. Online applications are accepted only.
Location: TAMU Tarleton, 503 N Neblett Avenue, Stephenville, TX 76401 (other locations available)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Requirements: HVAC experience, changing air filters on HVAC equipment, and EPA certification
Pay Range: $15.00 - $18.50 per hour

Job Summary
The HVAC Maintenance Technician performs skilled maintenance duties related to facilities engineering. Works under supervision from a Supervisor, Foreman, or Master Mechanic, utilizing proven skills in one trade, with independent problem-solving abilities and adherence to correct work practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Update work statuses and document tasks in the CMMS via mobile device.
2. Determine manpower, materials, and deadlines for jobs and projects.
3. Clean, lubricate, service, repair, and diagnose HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, including safety and specialty equipment.
4. Assist in decision-making on repairs and report major issues to supervisors.
5. Construct, install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems using appropriate tools.
6. Review outside vendor projects and prepare punch lists.
7. Analyze and resolve complex building system issues.
8. Support project management activities as needed.
9. Respond to emergency repairs promptly.
10. Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete preventive maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections.
11. Recommend modifications or improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
12. Keep shops and mechanical areas clean and safe.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. At least 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting.
2. Possession of a Journeyman Electrical License, EPA Refrigerant Certification, or Journeyman Plumber License.
3. Experience with blueprints and schematics.
4. Valid driver's license.
5. Basic understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
6. Ability to operate hand tools and construction equipment.
7. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and perform strenuous labor.
Working Conditions
Exposure to high heat, noise, dust, dirt, and areas requiring infection control. Must meet deadlines and be flexible to work nights and weekends as needed.
