Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Supervisor on a 6 month rolling Contract, based near Ipswich. - Must have TP141 - This role is 100% site based, 5 x 10 hours- may be weekend work on an ad hoc basis. Role Summary - The Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for assisting the commissioning manager in overseeing, leading, coordinating, managing and planning commissioning activities on our project ensuring that performance meets recognised standards of productivity, quality and compliance with essential health and safety provisions. - Provide operational support and feedback to the Commissioning Manager and the Field Operations Manager ensuring the implementation of all procedures and policies whilst providing support and guidance to other members of the site management and delivery teams. - This individual will also need to enact the role of LVAP, ensuring safety from the low voltage system and leading the associated safe system of work. - Complete all necessary internal reporting to a high standard and lead by example when interfacing with external parties such as clients, project stakeholders, sub consultants/subcontractors, enforcement agencies, local planning authorities & statutory bodies - Providing a link between the construction management teams, engineering design, clients and subcontractors for the delivery of the project to ensure the safe and efficient execution of works activities. - Identification of all commissioning works requirements for the specific projects within the portfolio working with the construction management teams. - Overseeing the activity of subcontractors on site in relation to the approach to electrical and commissioning works, ensuring that the approach is safe and robust, works are well planned with assist with designs where required. Essential Requirements Full UK driving licence HNC/ HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent demonstratable experience / training SMSTS or IOSH or Equivalent National Grid Persons Varied knowledge of substation equipment from various OEM’s Minimum of 8 years’ experience working within HV sector Minimum of 5 years as a commissioning engineer Experience and understanding of National Grid TP141 Experience managing and or working under LV SSoW Must have a strong LV & HV knowledge The ability to empathise, communicate and influence stakeholders and the Project Team. The ability to lead by example and motivate the project team. Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills. Be able to work on own initiative. Computer literate. Must have commercial awareness and understand the effect of site based activities on the project financial performance.
