Salary is up to £65,000 (FTE) DOE
We are looking for an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon who is committed to providing a high level of client and patient care. Experience across the full range of small animal duties including small animal surgery, diagnostics, and medicine would be preferred but guidance and help will always be available from our friendly team of vets, nurses, and support staff.
We aim to deliver excellent customer service; going the extra mile to satisfy the needs of our diverse client range, whilst providing patient care that is focused around animal welfare and always considering the pet's best interests first and foremost.
The Role
This role provides a mixture of 15-minute consultations with a wide range of surgeries from routine neuters to more complex operations. We are looking for someone part-time to fill 27 hours a week, ideally over 3 days. Saturdays are 1:3, 8.30am to 1pm and Sundays are 9am to 11am, and 1:10. There is no OOH as we are a Vets Now host practice.

The Practice
Rhyd Broughton is the longest established vet practice in our area, with a large, loyal client base. RCVS accredited and an IVCE Centre of Operational Excellence and silver ISFM Cat Friendly Status.
100% small animal practice in a great location in North Wales where you are close to both city and countryside. We pride ourselves on offering exemplary customer service for our loyal client base and are strong believers in preventative care. Working with us will allow you to offer your clients outstanding customer-focused service and provide reassuring case continuity.
Our new Vet(s) will join us at an exciting time, as we have recently refurbished and expanded our practice, giving us two additional consultation rooms, a brand-new dental suite, and a separate ultrasound area. A new staff kitchen and staff lounge have been added, along with a "quiet" relaxation room and dedicated nurse training room.
The Team
We have a great team of 9 vets, two of whom are surgical certificate holders. Certificates and further studies in your area of interest are actively encouraged.
Clinical discussions within the team are commonplace and we are always happy to offer advice/be a sounding board for a colleague with a difficult case! We have a large in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, dental suite, and an ultrasound with cardiac capabilities and ECG.
Our excellent team of nurses comprises of 7 RVNs, 2 student nurses, and 3 ACAs. We are a nurse training practice and have 2 clinical coaches. Our head nurse is also a Behaviour Certificate Holder.
Our nurses are attentive, dedicated, and incredibly caring meaning our patients always have gold standard care, and the vets get gold standard support!
We are very focused on client care and have a team of 11 friendly Client Care Team members to look after our clients - leaving you time to look after their pets. Our Client Care team are headed by our Practice Director who is a VMG CVPM Certificate holder.
We have 2 Wellbeing Champions and 4 Mental Health First Aiders in practice, as positive mental health is something we focus on as a practice. We have practice groups, such as our gardening group and practice ‘green team' and organise social events throughout the year.
The Location
Located in beautiful North Wales, close to lots of outdoor adventure activities like Surf Snowdonia, Zipworld and have easy access to great climbing and walking, especially around Snowdonia and coastal areas. If you prefer a more leisurely pastime there is plenty of shopping with Liverpool One, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, Chester all on our doorstep. We also have great transport links with both Liverpool and Manchester airport close by and Holyhead port not far away.
