QHSE ENGINEER

Our client has been established for almost 40 years and is a recognised market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and distribution of an impressive portfolio of solutions for supply throughout the world. Due to continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for 2025 and beyond, they are now looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic QHSE Engineer to complement their professional Manufacturing team.
Reporting to the Quality Manager and based near Coleshill, the successful QHSE Engineer will be responsible for supporting and advising on the implementation of the quality management system (QMS), solving day-to-day problems, and anticipating health and safety, quality, and environmental hazards at production sites, particularly by carrying out studies and sharing experiences.
As a QHSE Engineer, you will be committed to promoting a positive Health & Safety attitude across the business, with Safety First being paramount. You will work within the core values of the business and understand company objectives to meet and exceed KPIs and metrics. Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but are not limited to):
1. Implementation and maintenance of the company's BS:EN:ISO-9001 quality management system (QMS), BS:EN:ISO14001 environmental management system (EMS), and BS:OHSAS45001 occupational health, safety management system (OHSMS).
2. Carrying out induction training for all new starters.
3. Maintaining compliance with current legislation.
4. Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the company recycling schemes.
5. Compiling data required for management reviews and implementing agreed actions focusing on continuous improvement of the QMS/EMS and OHSMS.
6. Carrying out process and system audits throughout the business and monitoring and reporting close-out of audit findings.
7. Generating Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
8. Attending subcontractor and vendor audits as required.
9. Generating clear and detailed QHSE management reports.
10. Attending company HSE Committee meetings.
11. Implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement action plans.
It is envisaged that the successful QHSE Engineer candidate will demonstrate at least 3 years' experience gained in an engineering manufacturing environment with both practical and systems experience. A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline and membership in a professional body related to the Safety and Environmental sector is preferred. A good understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 along with skills in the use of management, project, and planning tools and techniques is essential.
