Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Ongar
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 per annum
Company & Project:
Our client, a well-known social housing contractor, is currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis. The company specializes in new build and refurbishment projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Undertake all Senior Quantity Surveying duties on your contracts.
* Direct and control all financial and legal aspects of your construction contract ensuring profitability.
* Be aware of the company's business plan and its aims.
* Establish, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships with the client and all members of the client’s team.
* Prepare any loss and expense claims arising out of the extension of time claims.
* Ensure all subcontractors are on the approved list.
* Work with the contract team to manage the design on a design and build contract to ensure financial benefit.
* Ensure that the request for information schedule includes financial or legal elements.
* Establish a procurement strategy with a procurement schedule in line with the time requirements of the operational and design deliverables for the project.
Desirable Experience:
* Very high level of commercial awareness of the industry.
* Good knowledge of building law, the law of contract, and statutory requirements.
* Understanding of financial management.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Good organisational and presentation skills.
* General business awareness, a practical mind, and sound judgement.
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
