This post has been identified as being suitable for Nottinghamshire County Council’s Apprenticeship Scheme.
In order to apply for this post you must be willing to undertake training against an appropriate Apprenticeship Standard that will be delivered by an approved training provider.
Apprenticeships are open to all ages and abilities and are designed to encourage people who may not have the necessary experience or qualifications to access employment.
Are you ready to take your Youth Work career to the next level, join Nottinghamshire County Council Youth Service, and gain your national qualification (JNC) as a Youth Worker level 6 while gaining practical hands-on experience?
We have an exciting opportunity in the Youth Service for 3 Youth Work apprenticeships, leading to a permanent position. The youth work apprentice scheme has recently started, enabling you to become a professionally qualified JNC-recognised Level 6 (degree level) Youth Worker.
The apprenticeship course will last for 3 years, and the training will be a mixture of regular online lessons, coursework, and on-the-job training. Alongside this, you will work as part of Nottinghamshire County Council Youth Service. To find out more about the service we deliver, please click here: Youth Service
Youth Service is dedicated to providing safe spaces, trusted Youth Workers, and fun and engaging things to do. Join us and help make this happen if you have experience of:
* Delivering creative and innovative youth work.
* Building positive relationships with young people.
* Developing links with the local community.
* Managing a team of part-time staff.
* Running 4 open access evening sessions a week, plus daytime and after-school targeted youth work on issues-based topics relevant to young people's needs.
Key Requirements
* To be considered for the apprenticeship, you must have a minimum qualification at level 2 in Youth Work and have either gained or are due to complete your level 3 by August 2025.
* Under the apprenticeship funding rules, UK Nationals or other persons with a right of abode are as follows:
UK nationals or other persons with a right of abode have eligible residency status if they have been ordinarily resident in the UK or the British Overseas Territories, or the Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous 3 years on the first day of the apprenticeship.
* Non-UK nationals have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years previous to the first day of the apprenticeship. Any Applicant on a Visa will also require a Visa that covers the full length of the apprenticeship, including the EPA period.
* You must also have your Maths and English Grade 4 or equivalent or be able to complete functional skills to Level 2. (Please note this may change following recent government guidance, which we are awaiting further information)
We have three apprenticeship posts available within the county; two are in Youth Centres, and one is a mobile position North of the county. Please note the mobile position will require a driving test and medical to enable you to drive the mobile.
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
