SUMMARY:
This individual will be key in their participation, assistance, and problem-solving with plant operations, sanitation, and maintenance. The primary role of the Q.A. Technician is to support operations and quality by assisting in data collection, analysis, communication, and guidance to ensure food safety and the highest level of quality is maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:
1. Conduct incoming ingredient and packaging materials sampling, COA review, hold and release process.
2. Perform FSMS functions as it relates to the Q.A. Technician role.
3. Inspect packing as outlined in the Packaging Inspection Program.
4. Facilitate hold process for ingredients, in-process materials, finished and packaged products.
5. Maintain sample retains of finished products.
6. Monitor and record product weights, quality, and sensory as a part of daily product showing.
7. Perform analytical and microbiological testing to support Production.
8. Make routine decisions related to product quality and safety.
9. Provide on-line operator guidance in GMPs and other food safety issues directly relating to the Reading plant operations.
10. Collect, analyze, and communicate results to key stakeholders.
11. Perform on-line inspections as required.
12. Assist the Q.A management with project work, rechecks of product held and from the field.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 1 to 5 years in manufacturing, preferably food, & Quality Assurance.
2. Associate degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field, or equivalent related experience in Food/Beverage Industry or production plant facility. B.S. degree preferred.

1. Use of various computer systems for data manipulation and basic analysis.
2. Strong document management skills and attention to detail; accuracy is a must.

5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Able to work independently.
7. Enthusiasm and energy for the Quality Assurance Function.
8. Demonstrates leadership abilities.

10. Strategic thinking – ability to establish the vision and future direction to enable the company to maintain a leadership role in the profession and industry.
11. Excellent communication skills, able to respond and interact with both internal and external stakeholders at every level.
12. Excellent interpersonal skills.
13. Assertive and able to effectively manage crisis/high stress situations calmly and professionally.
14. Credible team player with good influence skills, particularly regarding qualitative, abstract concepts.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a 3rd shift position, working on-site at a food manufacturing plant. Weekend support, as needed, to support the business.
