About the Role
Swale Borough Council is currently looking to recruit seasonal Beach Cleaners, to work within our well-established Seafront team in Sheerness from March to September.
The successful applicant will ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained on Sheppey’s beaches, promenades and seafront open spaces. The post holders will ensure the areas are litter picked, swept daily and all bins emptied to support the work of the Seafront team in ensuring the Council achieves the Blue Flag and Seaside Award Standards.
We have three vacancies available on a six month fixed term contract:
2 x positions working 26.75 per week (5 days per week on a rota basis to include weekends and Bank Holidays), and
1 x position working 11.5 hours per week (Thursday & Friday).
Working days will be 8am to 1.30pm, however there are occasions where the postholder may need to start earlier and therefore a degree of flexibility in the role is essential.

About You
Applications are sought from friendly, outgoing and responsible team players who enjoy working outdoors and hold a manual handling certificate. You will need to flexible and happy with early starts. It is also essential that the postholders have a full driving licence with the ability to drive a Council vehicle.
Selection Process
Following the submission of your application form, it will be reviewed by the recruiting manager. Those that are successful in securing an interview can expect job specific interview assessment, followed by an interview.
