Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, this role is part of the Plant Maintenance Team within Site Operations responsible for undertaking essential preventative maintenance tasks.
This will include plant breakdown support as necessary, including out-of-hours via an on-call duty rota.
Responsibilities:
1. To offer solid, technical expertise and professional knowledge to maintain the current machinery and plant needed to meet business demands.
2. To offer other company divisions top-notch service and technical assistance.
3. To uphold an efficient facilities commitment by employing a shift cover system to handle maintenance duties and breakdowns that occur after hours.
4. To oversee and manage the assigned preventive maintenance tasks on the plant, maximising utilisation while making sure that any possible hazards are recognised, handled, and proactively shared with internal customers.
5. To guarantee that, at all times, all statutory and legal maintenance duties comply with corporate policies, processes, and legal obligations, particularly regarding HSE governance and business ethical standards.
6. To guarantee that subcontract suppliers maintain controls, alerts, and service agreements that guarantee adherence to predetermined costs and compliance with corporate protocols.
7. To make sure that customers and other facilities group members are informed about plant support and related issues.
8. To support the establishment of best practices in facilities through the use of new technologies and the search for and use of strategies for continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience Essential Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years' experience within a Facilities maintenance role is essential, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
2. Able to work shifts consisting of a rolling programme of five 10 hours days on and 3 days off.
3. Experience with water systems, electrical distribution (415v and lower, 11kv knowledge advantageous), fire alarms, air-conditioning, control systems, BEMS/Trend systems, process chillers, A/C systems.
4. Minimum of NVQ (3) or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering is essential.
5. Experience of using electronic tablet-based work allocation and time recording applications would be advantageous.
6. Knowledge of and adherence to safe working practices in line with HSE policy, Risk Assessment and COSHH procedures.
