Maintenance Electrician needed for a well-established facilities management organisation based in the Blackburn area who are looking for a Maintenance Electrician to participate in the planned and reactive maintenance schedule for all site infrastructure. Working closely with the Technical Services team to manage workflow from the CAFM system through to completion and sign off.
What the role entails:
As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for:
* Carrying out electrical planned and reactive maintenance on all on-site infrastructure in a timely manner and working supportively with the team.
* Communicating regularly and effectively with clients and developing excellent professional working relationships to ensure a smooth running of the business.
* Carrying out operational activities in a manner that ensures personal safety and does not endanger the safety of others.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations while providing excellent service to our customers.
* Diagnosing, fault-finding, commissioning systems, monitoring and assessing ongoing machine/facility performance through the Planned Preventive Maintenance programme, identifying any additional works required.
* Assisting in installing, commissioning, and servicing plant, equipment, and specialist healthcare/patient equipment.
* Participating in the on-call rota.
* Administering and completing relevant paperwork.
* Working under pressure, taking ownership of problems, and dealing with them to their conclusion.
* Reporting all issues to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and ensuring compliance with statutory, NHS, and company procedures.
Experience required for the Maintenance Electrician position:
* Apprentice trained and qualified/experienced in relevant trade (Electrical).
* City & Guilds 2392-10 - Initial and Periodic Testing and Inspecting OR C&G 2382 - 17th Edition Wiring Regulations or equivalent.
* AM2 Practical Assessment.
* Preferably experienced with HVAC, pump systems, lighting and power, fire alarms, IPS, UPS, BMS, generation, passenger/goods lifts, switchgear.
* Knowledge of IT systems such as Microsoft Office and CAFM-based handheld devices.
* Experience working in a healthcare environment would be advantageous.
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* A self-starter with a good attitude, good communicator, and a people person.
* Health & Safety courses qualifications (i.e. company or industry standard).
* Experience of working with contractors.
* Strong customer focus with experience of delivering high standards of customer service.
* Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely.
* Experience of working within safe systems of work (SSOW) - permit to work, induction process, etc.
