We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our team and lead the design, documentation, and communication of solution architecture for stock optimisation. In this role, you will manage changes to approved solutions, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements while aligning with business and IT priorities.
Responsibilities
1. Create, review, and contribute to documentation and processes for selecting new technology to support business objectives.
2. Review formal requirements documents for new projects and provide feedback on open questions and gaps.
3. Design end-to-end solutions for projects, covering all domains: Process, Applications, Information/Data, Technology, Service, Integration, and Security.
4. Define as-is and future architecture designs, and get agreement on required changes and transition states.
5. Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met by the proposed solution, aligning business and IT priorities.
6. Obtain agreement on the design as documented in the solution blueprint and communicate it to key stakeholders.
7. Prepare or oversee low-level designs, ensuring they meet requirements, and manage any changes to the solution design.
8. Ensure solution delivery plans align with overall delivery plans, including test phases and cutover.
9. Update baseline architecture when the project goes live and ensure the provision of application environments.
10. Ensure overall quality of the architecture solution throughout the development process, anticipating and resolving issues.
11. Collaborate with business partners and other architects to design, develop, and implement solutions, ensuring alignment with standards and best practices.
12. Build strong relationships with subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and project leadership to support smooth transitions and integration with ongoing initiatives.
13. Identify and evaluate new technologies for competitive advantages and internal efficiencies, while completing other assigned projects and tasks.
Qualifications
1. BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
Essential skills
1. Clear and effective communication, documentation, and diagramming skills.
2. Familiarity with Retail Supply Chain and Planning platforms.
3. Ability to analyze complex IT systems and balance technical/strategic considerations with practical solutions.
4. Advanced knowledge of software development practices, deployment pipelines, and integration of applications.
5. Strong relationship-building, influencing, and leadership skills.

4. Previous experience with IT engineering/design in large multinational organisations.
5. Experience of Planning platforms and Store Systems/ Operations highly desirable.
