Your new school
This school believes in supporting its students in preparing for adulthood and focuses on key areas including communication, independent living and future destinations. The school supports children with cognition and learning needs and all children at the school have an EHCP, with the school's main needs being PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities) and SLD (Severe Learning Disabilities). The school has created its own curriculum to support the students and their development into adults and has fantastic facilities to support their students, including a fantastic sensory offering to encourage student engagement.
Your new role
In your new job as a Teaching Assistant, you'll work with a team of like-minded practitioners to support pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) and SLD (Severe Learning Disabilities) to thrive in this welcoming and happy environment. Hays Teaching Assistants make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities which make every day different! You'll benefit from on-going support from your Hays consultant, Hollie, who will be there for you throughout this placement and beyond.
What you need to succeed
To succeed in your new job, you'll have a minimum of 1 year's experience working with pupils who have PMLD or SLD, ideally in an educational setting. You'll be able to adapt to the needs of students across Key Stages with previous experience supporting children with communication and/or sensory needs. Most importantly, you'll be confident stepping into a new school and ready to quickly build relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents.
