In joining our team as a Rotational Occupational Therapist, you will work in a variety of settings as part of a rotation and be influential in supporting both in-patient, outpatient and community services with a strong focus on rehabilitation, education and prevention, and self-management / lifestyle advice for acute, sub-acute and long-term conditions. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions, supporting timely discharges and improving the health and wellbeing of the local population. A range of graded interventions will be used which may include moderate physical and frequent mental and emotional effort by using occupational performance to address skill deficits enabling the Service User in areas of function, self-maintenance, productivity and leisure. This will be applied to each specialism throughout the rotation period. All newly qualified clinical/social work staff are required to complete their preceptorship/ASYE during the first 12 months of employment. As part of this role, you will be required to travel across wide geographical area and have access to a car, with valid driving licence and business insurance., As Allied HealthProfessionals (AHP's), we focus maximising function, preventing deterioration; supporting both safe discharge and / or follow up in the community with short- and longer-term rehabilitation programmes ensuring adaptation to life changes. As part of this role you will:
* Promote the philosophy of self-care and the promotion of independence whilst offering rehabilitation and assessment.
* Provide Specialist rehabilitation services which are a highly complex area of the care and will act as an autonomous professional.
* Be responsible for a defined population of service users in a variety of settings across the Partnership Trust.
* Be skilled in the assessment of preventative treatment/support needs and in the development, implementation and evaluation of agreed goals.
* Dependent on level of experience you may be expected to support supervision / education of unregistered members of staff and OT students, and to support students from other professions who work in the team.
