Accounts Assistant

* Job Type: Full-time hours, 9-month fixed term maternity contract
* To start Nov/Dec 2024
* Office based only - no hybrid working available
We are looking for a diligent Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant to join a warm and friendly finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all purchased items are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, facilitating the production of accounts and payment to suppliers within required timescales.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Print, collate, check, code, and post invoices into the Pegasus Opera accounting system.
* Liaise with purchasing and goods inward departments regarding factory invoices.
* Liaise with the service department regarding service and subcontractor invoices.
* Check and reconcile supplier statements.
* Address and resolve supplier queries.
* Scan and file invoices and supporting documents into an electronic filing cabinet.
* Process credit card expenses and maintain the Shell Fuel card account.
* Manage credit control of some service department sales ledger debts.
* Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience with Pegasus Opera or similar accounting systems would be ideal, but not essential to apply.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with various departments and suppliers.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in using electronic filing systems.
* Experience in credit control is advantageous.
