An esteemed Multi Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pupil and Family Welfare Lead to join the permanent staff team at one of its thriving schools in Ipswich. The Role:
The Pupil and Family Welfare Lead will be responsible for promoting the well-being of students by working closely with children, families, and staff to remove barriers to learning. The role involves identifying and addressing welfare concerns, coordinating support services, and fostering strong relationships between home and school. This individual will play a crucial part in ensuring every pupil feels safe, supported, and ready to engage with their education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a key point of contact for pupils and families requiring welfare support.
* Work collaboratively with staff, external agencies, and community organisations to provide tailored support for pupils facing challenges.
* Safeguard and promote the well-being of children in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Develop and implement intervention strategies to support students' emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
* Monitor and track pupil attendance, engagement, and overall well-being.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils in need.
* Organise and lead workshops or training sessions for families to encourage engagement with their child’s education.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring all documentation complies with relevant policies and regulations.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, or welfare role within an educational setting.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with pupils, families, and colleagues.
* Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies.
* Proactive, empathetic, and resilient with a passion for improving pupil outcomes.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Relevant qualifications in social work, education, child welfare, or a related field (desirable).
