NHS Humber Health Partnership (Hull University Teaching Hospitals and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trusts) are looking for a talented and experienced individual to join the team as a Principal Information Analyst. We are looking for someone who can understand and discuss an issue, investigate, and aggregate data from a wide range of sources (both internally and externally), analyze the data, and then communicate findings to a range of different audiences succinctly and confidently. The successful candidate must be a good team player, who can manage their own workload and work to deadlines successfully along with managing a team of Analysts. The candidate will also be an experienced analyst with experience of Microsoft Products, especially Excel, T-SQL, Power BI, and SSRS. The post holder is responsible for supporting with the development, implementation, and use of a range of descriptive and analytical statistical techniques. There will also be a requirement to influence managers and clinicians with narrative and graphic tools that explain the data in statistical terms, making appropriate connections between measures to provide a triangulated picture of performance. The Information Services team is based either at Beacon House in Scunthorpe or in Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham Hull; however, the team runs a hybrid of in-office and working from home.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be an experienced analyst with a proven NHS data background. You will be an excellent communicator to ensure best use of your analytical skills to improve clinical services and ultimately outcomes for our patients. As a principal analyst, you will have a specific area of focus where you will lead for both service delivery, and specialist knowledge. As a member of the Senior Informatics' team, you will focus on the following areas:
* Understanding and advising on the Trust's waiting lists - supporting clinical services to reduce long waits.
* Key support to transformation programs.
* Leading on contracting and planning for the Trust.
* Supporting the lead on statutory, regular, and performance reporting and returns, championing data quality and accuracy, along with providing transparency to internal teams.
* Responsibility for providing information to support the Trust's Quality & Performance Agenda.
* Capacity and demand, data modeling, and forecasting.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
* Master's degree in relevant subject, or Post Graduate diploma level or equivalent experience in an Information Analysis Role complemented by demonstrable experience.
Desirable
* A Post Graduate Diploma in an appropriate discipline.
* Good level of general education 3 A Levels Grades A* to C or equivalent.
* Membership of appropriate professional organization.
Occupational experience and abilities
Essential
* Minimum of 5 years' practical working experience in an information or performance-related role/discipline.
* Strong and proven knowledge, skills, and understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL), Power BI, and DAX and/or similar products.
* Extensive experience of data collection and data management procedures.
* Advanced numeric skills and strong analytical and statistical techniques.
Desirable
