Ellwood Atfield has partnered with a leading UK health organisation who are looking to appoint a Policy and External Affairs Officer to join their Northern Ireland Office. The organisation works to protect, improve and uphold medical standards and patient safety in the UK through education, working closely with doctors, patients and healthcare providers to ensure safe practicing standards are maintained.
The Opportunity
Our client is looking to recruit a Policy and External Affairs Officer to join their Northern Ireland Office to promote and support the policy and public affairs activity for the organisation in Northern Ireland. As part of the team, your responsibility will be to develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure key policy positions are communicated and the regulator’s reputation is protected and enhanced.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor changes happening the in the health political landscape across the UK and to update the relevant colleagues of these changes.
2. Write accurate briefings for senior staff members, such as the Head of Office and Directors.
3. To develop close working relationships with colleagues across the policy function to effectively work together.
4. Contribute to the team's engagement activities and represent the organisation at external events.
Key Requirements
5. A strong knowledge of the Northern Irish political landscape.
6. Experience of researching and providing written briefings in a timely manner.
7. Experience of confidently working with senior stakeholders (internally and externally).
