Purpose of the role
To lead the Colas RAIL IM Control and Resource Team in real time to ensure safe operation/delivery of Coas Rail IM & VIU Services and meet exceed customer expectations. Meet / manage contractual and internal KPIs as agreed with Duty Manager Team Leader and Colas Rail Business Delivery Manager IM.
Key Responsibilities
* Take lead during service disruption of Colas Rail IM / VIU Services
* Take lead in resource short fall that threatens Colas Rail IM / VIU Services
* Take Lead / assist all team members within the Colas Rail IM / VIU Services
* Attends Daily Colas 0800 Fleet Conference (internal)
* Attends Daily SCO 0900 Fleet Conference (external)
* Collate / distribute daily IM Performance figures
* Collate / distribute Colas Rail IM Daily Log
* 1st point of contact for SCO 24/7 IM controller for all issues related to
* Manages “out of hours” work acceptance procedure in line with agreed principles for NWR SCO
* Deputise for Duty Manager Team Leader as required
* Manages requirement for Hotels for Colas IM Drivers “out of hours”
* Manages requirement for Taxi to and from Trains for Colas IM Driver team during “out of Hours”
* Assists Duty Manager team Leader as required in day to day delivery of the Colas IM / VIU contracts
* Adheres to SOP’s that apply to any process they are required to carry out in line with normal duties.
* Adheres to Colas Rail DOTE (IM) and Colas Rail Control Manual and all other documentation as per operational, business requirement and Role Profile.
Person Specification
* Knowledge of Network Rail Access Conditions
* Knowledge of RSSB GERM8000 – master-module as applicable to the role of Duty Manager IM
* Knowledge of Network Rail publications relating to ROTR/VSTP acceptance.
* Knowledge of full UK Rail Network
* Knowledge of stabling/depot Access agreements / agreements.
* Competent in the rostering of train crew and ground staff as required.
* Knowledge of IT Systems in line with RIS
* Knowledge of accidents reporting and investigations
* Personal Track Safety
* Knowledge of Colas Rail IM Control Manual / DOTE and Emergency Plan.
* Assessed competent to carry out role of Duty Manager IM and as per Colas Rail UK assessment process.
