Building Surveyor - Kent / London ALL APPLICANT MUST LIVE AND WORK IN THE UK IF NOT YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED Role Overview Our client is looking to fill the position of Building Surveyor, where the successful candidate will work within the Kent office and on-site. This role offers the chance to gain practical skills, knowledge, and experience in performing building surveys on high-rise residential properties, as well as in report writing, remediation work, and contract administration. Responsibilities Support project teams by liaising with clients, residents, contractors, developers, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and progress. Develop an in-depth understanding of the Building Surveyor’s role, focusing on tasks required by the Building Safety Act. The surveyor will collaborate with internal and external team members and work closely with the project manager or team lead. Gain practical experience in diagnosing building pathology and producing detailed reports across residential, educational, and healthcare buildings. Ensure that clients receive all necessary deliverables and documentation to facilitate informed decision-making. Assist in preparing essential building documentation, safety cases, and compliance logs, utilizing specialized software (training provided). Work towards or maintain a relevant professional qualification (support provided). Core Duties Assist in producing building safety case reports as part of building safety case works. Work as part of a small, close-knit team and report directly to the Team Leader or Delivery Director. Travel to project sites across London and surrounding areas, requiring a valid UK driving license. Cultivate skills and knowledge pertinent to the built environment, aligning with the qualifications and responsibilities of a Building Surveyor. Procedural and Administrative Duties Contribute to report writing, contract administration, and Employer’s Agent roles specifically for high-rise remediation projects. Support the resident liaison process to ensure effective communication and project completion. Develop skills in taking and understanding meeting minutes for both internal and external discussions, with a focus on understanding key project points. Gain insight into the project team’s structure and learn how each role contributes to project delivery. Assist in the tendering process and procurement of consultants and contractors, gaining exposure to key administrative and procedural aspects.
