Description Job Description Do you have excellent attention to detail and the confidence to advise and influence colleagues and stakeholders at all levels? DPEA is responsible for determining and reporting to Scottish Ministers on a range of planning and environmental casework, including housing, renewable energy and electricity transmission line proposals. The post holder will be one of three section managers and will report to directly to the Head of Performance and Administration. You will have direct line management responsibility for at least one Casework Team Leader and countersigning for a team of caseworkers. You will work closely with the Team Leaders to review and improve administrative processes and procedures. Responsibilities Provide concise and clear briefings for Ministers and senior officials, research for and prepare submissions for media lines, PQ’s, Micase and FOI requests. Lead on engagement with planning authorities and other stakeholders. Build effective relationships internally and externally. Provide effective support to your team encouraging collaboration, flexibility and fairness to enable their potential. Maintain oversight of the work of the team and provide leadership and support to help build knowledge, skills and experience to enable the smooth and efficient running of all aspects of our work. Continuously develop knowledge and expertise in the wide range of appeals and other cases administered by DPEA. You will be a confident communicator and able to develop and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The ability to respond quickly and accurately interpret and understand complex information from a diverse range of sources and communicate advice is important in this role.
