Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity to work within the private patient team, working specifically with our cancer care staff members co-ordinating all appointments for the private patients coming into UHS.
This position is only open to admin staff that have worked or are currently working within Cancer Care and have the knowledge and understanding of the trusts outpatient system (referrals, clinic management etc) as well as scheduling of cancer patients treatment through the Aria system. Attention to detail is extremely important.
It is an exciting opportunity for someone with these skills to extend their knowledge within the private patient services within the NHS.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
1. To provide a patient facing role for our private patient/overseas activity within the Solent Suite/Hamwic House.
2. To liaise with Consultants at all stages of the private patient pathway to ensure a seamless approach to care.
3. To act as contact point for private patients and to ensure that all aspects of their stay meet the standards expected by insurers.
4. To liaise with other staff that are involved in the private patient pathway, to ensure the patient receives the optimum level of service.
5. Flexibility of working hours will be required to meet the needs of the service – evening clinics and occasional Saturday sessions.
6. Co-ordinate and book chemotherapy/outpatient appointments on relevant Trust systems for private patients as per appropriate forms/directed by consultant.
7. Reschedule and plan – rebooking of chemotherapy/outpatient appointments as required/directed by clinical staff.
Person specification
Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
1. 5 GCSE (or equivalent) passes, grades A – C, including English & Maths
2. Finance, IT or business administration qualification to level 4 (AAT Technician) or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge skills and experience
3. Intermediate Excel knowledge and experience including using pivot tables and MS access databases.
4. Experience of producing performance management information or financial reports
5. Experience in data manipulation, statistical, interpretive and analytical skills with complex datasets
6. Experience of working in a finance environment
7. Experience in raising invoices using finance systems.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working in the NHS
2. Advanced Excel skills
3. Use of clinical patient systems
4. Knowledge of medical insurance.
5. Knowledge of private patient and overseas processes at UHS
