My job
To provide support to the finance department in the provision of daily, weekly, and monthly accounting information within appropriate deadlines. To work on projects investigating the administration, control, and financial impact of key operational activities. To take ownership of the production and reviewing of concept costings for Craigavon Site. Assist with other factory accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* To support the Site Accountant with the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts.
* To take responsibility for sections of the P&L and prepare reporting of variances against standard and budget within the normal reporting deadlines.
* To take responsibility for sections of the Balance Sheet, ensuring the financial integrity of the numbers through regular review and month-end balance sheet reconciliation.
* To provide weekly and monthly variance reporting information to the Site Accountant for further review and analysis, highlighting any issues identified.
* To review weekly stocks for quantity and price, and identify the financial impact of any errors. Provide feedback to the relevant operations staff to improve financial controls.
* To contribute to the annual budget process for the site, along with preparing budget information for allocated areas of responsibility.
* To work with the Site Accountant and other Assistant Accountant on a day-to-day basis and provide holiday/exam cover as required.
* To provide support to the overhead and capital expenditure reporting and control process.
* To cost new products and create & amend production models when required.
Essential Criteria
* Must have a degree in accountancy or finance-based subject or be studying towards an accountancy qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
* Advanced user spreadsheet skills.
* Experience of working in a Finance team, with some exposure to variance reporting and overhead control.
* Understands the principles of standard costing in a manufacturing environment and can relate this back to operational controls.
