IT is central to the success of the business and the team supports the infrastructure and services vital to its operation The role-holder will report to the Head of IT and will be the subject matter expert for Syspro at Charlie Bigham's. They will guide Bigham's on Syspro best practice, help prioritise the approved Syspro change projects, develop the changes required, deliver the changes required and then help the business test these changes whilst supporting stakeholders with training and guidance. About the role We are looking for an experienced Syspro ERP consultant. For this role it is essential that candidates have a strong background managing, maintaining and developing Syspro ERP’s. It is important that you have an eye for detail and take pride in the quality of delivered Syspro solutions to ensure we deliver a great user experience across the entire Bighams business at both Quarry and London locations. The candidate requires advanced understanding of Syspro ERP technologies (order processing, stock management, MRP, Planning, Scheduling, MOM, accounting, reporting, procurement, despatching of goods, EDI integrations etc) and data integrations (SQL, XML, APIs). You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the Syspro software development life cycle, as well as strong communication skills to work with stakeholders to ensure delivery of common goals. Our aim is to provide world class Syspro change development and Syspro IT Service and support for the business, and you will enable this. You will also be responsible for completing a program of Syspro change projects to improve process, Syspro best practice, resolving Syspro root cause issues to reduce logged calls and technically advise Bigham's regarding Syspro best practice. You will need to manage problems through root cause resolution, and this will require you to effectively communicate with key Bigham’s stakeholders and contracted third party vendors. N.B. This role is a hybrid role but could be managed from our London or Wells, Somerset locations. Main Responsibilities What are we looking for? Be the technical subject matter expert for the Syspro ERP system, lead and educate whilst managing development of your changes with the wider IT team and internal/external resources to deliver the agreed changes. Review and improve existing configurations across areas such as: order flow, Despatch, suppliers, Purchase Orders, Warehousing, Stock Control, Finace process, reports for business users. Identify and verify all bugs /minor enhancements, ensuring fixes are delivered in a timely manner. Identify opportunities to replace, upgrade and improve people and Syspro system processes by providing subject matter expertise (SME), guidance, advice, and input into architectural, technical, design and implementation solutions. Work with other stakeholders to support and lead testing activities ensuring issues are recorded / resolved. Build relationships with the IT team and business teams to elicit requirements and ensure that projects remain on track and meet requirements. Document change, continuous improvement, projects-based and BAU support requirements & system specifications with a high degree of accuracy, interfacing with key stakeholders to clarify, refine and validate. Training other key users on using Syspro is important to reduce tickets logged to the IT ServiceDesk so they can gain deeper understanding of using Syspro and being less reliant on the IT team. Communicate information at the right level to drive decisions and actions. The Ideal Candidate Essential: Syspro problem management and problem resolution. Experience of liaising with external partners on Syspro technical developments and changes. Experience of delivering changes to Syspro under pressure and reacting positively to change. Good communication skills Good problem solving and diagnosis. Able to work with minimal supervision. At least 10 years’ experience as a Senior Syspro Consultant. Demonstrable Syspro development experience covering all the following: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, MRP, MOM, Planning & Sheduling, Warehousing and Stock control. Ability to co-ordinate work across diverse teams, to develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, showcasing excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to document requirement and functional specification documentation for Syspro system enhancements and regulatory changes. Desirable: Leading Syspro 8 implementations at other Manufacturing organisations. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server including SQL MI. Good understanding of project & delivery methodologies such as Prince2 and Agile. Excellent analysis, problem management and interpersonal skills Self-motivated and able to own and manage workload with minimal supervision – a proven self-starter. Able to demonstrate a structured approach to work as well as being able to work well in team environment and deal with people professionally at all levels. Is used to working in a high workload environment and can readily prioritise issues and escalate if required. The successful candidate needs to be personable, helpful, engaged with a “can do” attitude. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels (verbal and written formats) whilst showing respect for others. General knowledge and experience of business IT systems, such as MS Office, and a willingness to develop your knowledge. Ability to organise and prioritise your time and your own workload to achieve your goals and objectives within the expected timeframes.
