An excellent opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced registered mental health professional to manage our locality wide eating disorder CAMHS team in North Yorkshire and York.
The successful candidate will have recent experience in mental health services, including experience in a managerial or leadership role, supervising staff, and involvement in service development and performance monitoring.
Main duties of the job
1. To improve the lives of children with mental ill health and eating disorders by minimising the impact of their condition through effective clinical leadership and management of the development and delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and well-being for all service users.
2. To be compassionate in meeting the needs of patients and their carers.
3. To be professionally accountable and responsible for the delivery of the clinical service by the community team.
4. To be responsible for the operational management of the team.
5. To lead practice development and service development initiatives to ensure continual quality improvement as an integral part of the Trust's Quality Improvement System.
6. To line manage the community team.
7. To provide direct care to patients in their homes and other community settings as required.

The role is based across North Yorkshire and York, with main hubs in York and Harrogate.
Job description
The post holder will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the operational delivery of the CAMHS service at team level and supporting the team in addressing issues impacting service delivery. Sound leadership and excellent communication skills will be required to drive the delivery of an effective, efficient, high-quality service in accordance with Trust values, clinical standards, service priorities, and performance requirements.
The post holder will be required to work closely with clinical and professional leads and to ensure effective links with other community teams and partners in York and North Yorkshire. The ability to work autonomously is essential with overall support and strategic direction from the Service Manager.

Qualifications
Essential
* Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work or relevant professional clinical qualification (ie PWP/CWP in IAPT/Getting Help services)
* Educated to Master's level in leadership or a subject area relevant to the area of practice OR equivalent clinical experience to that of master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience - which also includes significant experience of managing people (see below under experience), together with evidence of CPD.
* Trained in Clinical Supervision and Providing Clinical Supervision.
* Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor.

* Significant experience of managing people.
* Significant experience of working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field.
* Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours.
* Working collaboratively with others (external partners, staff service users, and their families/carers).
* Evidence of delivering supervision.
* Working knowledge of the legal framework and statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation.
* Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
* Risk assessment and management and its application in practice.
* Working knowledge of clinical medicines management.
* Developing, maintaining, and auditing standards of practice.
* Evidence of training in Quality Improvement methodology or coaching.
* Inter-agency and partnership working.
