Job summary The Behaviour Practitioner will work across the Adult Learning Disability (ALD) Services in Durham, Darlington & Tees Valley. The role is responsible for overseeing the programme of Positive Support training and working with local ALD services to support its implementation in practice. This is primarily a non-clinical role although there will be occasions when the Behaviour Practitioner will provide direct clinical support to clinical teams, including other Behaviour Practitioners, to help meet the needs of people with a learning disability and their families. Main duties of the job Following the review of the Adult Learning Disability Positive Support Strategy we are looking to increase our capacity to deliver an ambitious internal programme of positive support training to staff. To support the delivery of this training programme we are looking to appoint a Behaviour Practitioner. The successful candidate must hold an appropriate qualification in PBS or Behaviour Analysis (i.e. level 5 professional diploma; post graduate level/7). The successful candidates will take a lead role in the delivery and monitoring of the positive support training programme, that will include our competency-based training in PBS. The post-holder may also be required to provide clinical input as a Behaviour Practitioner to clinical teams when required to support implementation of the PBS pathway for people with a learning disability who are at increased risk of presenting behaviours that challenge. We are seeking individuals who are motivated, flexible, and able to communicate effectively.
