Our client is currently recruiting for a Buyer. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a long-term contract basis.
ROLE:
To be responsible for the procurement of materials and services for UK / Africa assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procurement of materials & services primarily for UK assets (Ninian South, Ninian Central, Tiffany).
Carrying out a diverse range of tasks related to the buying function and draw on experience, adapt and modify accordingly based on changing priorities and circumstances.
Co-ordination of Purchase Agreements with suppliers.
Ensuring orders are up to date and complete with amendments if required.
Maintaining checks of cost, quality and level of service provided by vendors.
Fostering an awareness of and adherence to relevant legislation, Regulations and best practice
Reviewing and satisfying asset requirements by way of standard supply chain processes.
Liaising with internal customers and other relevant parties.
Ad hoc expediting of materials / services and liaising with suppliers and third parties ensuring materials arrive at the end user at the right place at the right time ensuring production is not impacted at any time.
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
Good general education
Computer skills essential (Microsoft Office Suite).
Self-Starter.
Excellent ability to work as a valuable contributor to the team.
Ability to work flexibly and to be able to determine appropriate priorities.
Willing to work hard to meet deadlines without close supervision.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Experience in a Buyer / Expeditor position.

Experience within the Energy Sector
Understanding of the goods / services being procured/expedited
Previous experience with Maximo or other asset management software
