What you'll do:
* Laboratory Inventory Management – Monitor and track laboratory spare materials to ensure uninterrupted testing and analysis processes.
* Quality Control & Testing – Conduct daily inspections of test results•
* Laboratory Equipment Verification – Ensure that all laboratory devices are operating correctly by conducting routine verifications and calibrations.
* Production Process Monitoring – Review and track the daily production plan, provide insights on key process checkpoints, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Assist with the optimisation of processes whilst reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
* Trial & Special Production Supervision – Oversee and monitor trial and special production processes during shifts, ensuring adherence to quality guidelines.
* Wet Section Test Monitoring – Check and verify the accuracy of test results from the wet section to prevent any potential quality deviations.
* Customer Complaint Management – Participate in customer complaint meetings, analyse reported issues, and communicate necessary improvements to laboratory technicians.
* Reporting & Documentation – Prepare analysis reports and maintain necessary documentation related to laboratory testing and production quality control.
* Training & Team Development – Provide necessary test training to laboratory technicians, ensuring continuous skill improvement and procedural compliance.
* Design and implementation – Assist with the design and implementation of quality measures, standards and corrective actions.
* Other Responsibilities – Perform additional tasks assigned by the Quality Systems Manager to support continuous improvement and quality assurance.
What you'll bring:
* Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or Equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory or quality control role.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards and their applications.
* Familiarity with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) management systems.
* Experience in paper quality testing, colour control, and laboratory equipment maintenance.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate with quality and production teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft office packages.
