This role sits within the European Consumer & Market Intelligence (EO CMI) team.
EO CMI exists to understand the overall consumer relationship with the Samsung brand. We build our understanding of the consumer at x-category level and we find opportunities to x-sell across our product categories that have genuine appeal to consumers. We operate as one CMI team –with category specialists -but working together to provide the bigger picture.
The team builds and centralised insight programmes for the benefit of all European subsidiaries. We use a central approach with research agency partners to get the best commercial terms and share CMI standard process across the region. We are a Centre of Excellence –continuously looking for improvements to aid the entire region!
EO CMI advises through actionable insights on the digital consumer and the digital purchase journey. We integrate market and competitor intelligence and understand the impact of digital touchpoints with the consumer. We leverage digital measurement tools to complement our insights programmes.
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
This role will be responsible for leading cross-category insights across our Smartphone, TV and Digital Appliances categories. The role will also lead insight into significant consumer events unrelated to product categories.
Reporting to the Head of MX & Brand Insights, you will own brand research requirements, working in close collaboration with the Campaign Operations Manager on Campaign Insights. You will also work with both the wider Market Insights & Category Insights teams.
You will support business partners, including HQ, European Marketing, Regional Product Managers and Local European Markets, and become a “go-to” specialist for all primary brand and campaign insights.
What will be your key deliverables?
1. Defining, running and delivering brand and campaign research, including brand tracking, segmentation, concept testing and proposition development.
2. Synthesise data from multiple sources, e.g. trends, market intelligence, social, to build a complete consumer view and drive the use of insights into the business.
3. Act as liaison between HQ teams, EO and local markets; sharing HQ generated insight to drive local markets and EO to engage and act on HQ provided data/insights.
4. Take a proactive lead to guide the business in understanding and reacting to key insights.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
5. End-to-end project management of brand and campaign tracking, as well as ad-hoc insight projects related to business objectives (e.g. understanding consumer personas)
6. Developing insight into business-significant consumer events, unrelated to product categories (e.g. major sporting events)
7. Managing relevant vendor selection through the procurement process, agency management, programme set up and maintenance, questionnaire design, sample design, reporting design (inc. data visualisation), insight reporting and consultancy
8. Crafting agency presentation to ensure they have clear business implications, meaningful recommendations, and utilise effective storytelling techniques
9. In depth analysis of large data sets to support on key business questions (particularly for brand tracking)
10. Design and build the communications plans for brand and consumer insights; enabling stability of always-on tracking while also tailoring communications to respond to specific teams and strategic reviews
11. Act as a consumer champion within the business; develop knowledge of key consumer groups and represent their view points to aid strategy and development
12. Collaborate with HQ on ad pre-testing; act as key point of contact for the region aiding in set-up of tests, managing timelines and communication of final reports and recommendations.
13. Work closely with CMI colleagues from the other teams within European CMI to maximise the impact and value from the team Integration of other insight sources (e.g. Social) into your outputs
Skills and Qualifications

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
14. An insight professional with experience of primary research project management within a consumer focused business
15. A passion for understanding what makes consumers tick and inspiring others to do the same
16. Ability to design insight programmes to flexibility meet business challenges
17. Strong analytical and storytelling skills – taking data from various sources (quantitative, qualitative, continuous and ad-hoc), and building it into simple, clear and compelling stories in order to produce tangible and meaningful insight
18. Experience of drawing insight learnings from Social consumer data
19. Experience of partner agency management and relationship building
20. Pragmatic approach to working, delivering at speed but at the same time ensuring quality
21. Strong inter-personal, influencing and networking skills
22. Confident communicator with ability to challenge and probe teams to ensure decisions make good business sense
23. Highly organised; able to prioritise and effectively communicate plans
24. Rigorous attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy
