The studio provides conservation services to National Trust properties to ensure collection items are cared for and well-presented. As business services lead, you’ll ensure an efficient, effective and flexible conservation service for our clients. You’ll lead a team of volunteers who support the studio’s work, by undertaking administration tasks, photography, preventive conservation and collections management activities. You’ll coordinate business activities including transport arrangements, professional visits, maintenance of soft facilities and equipment and ordering goods and services.
What it's like to work here
Reporting to the studio lead your role supports a small team of conservators specialising in different fields of conservation, including paintings, frames, furniture and objects. Your contractual location will be the Royal Oak Foundation Conservation Studio in Knole, Kent and you will be expected to attend the office.
Occasional Saturday working will be required as the studio is open to the public Wednesday - Saturday. The studio, set in a 15th century barn, is a stunning open plan workspace, with a visitor area and separate events space.
Working alongside the conservation team are visiting and contracted professionals delivering a variety of services, from photography, to analysis, consultancy and research, the studio often hosts workshops, seminars, and events.
