We have an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join the Accounts Team in the Chelmsford office. Previous experience of working in a law firm would be an advantage.

The Role
Carrying out tasks within the department to include:
• Accurate processing of client account receipts, payments, bills etc
• Daily review of bank statements
• Daily bank reconciliations
• Process client and office account payments by BACS/CHAPS
• Posting client and office cheques on accounts system and preparing the
banking
• Contribute to accurate and timely month end closure
• Liaise with Partners, Fee Earners and senior management team relating to any
queries that arise
• Ensure strict adherence with the Solicitor Account Rules (SARs) – must have a
good working knowledge of these Rules.
Other duties may include:
• Processing supplier invoices and payments
• Posting of office account direct debits to the nominal ledger
• Petty cash
• Preparation of month end management information
• Assisting the Senior Accounts Assistant
• Must possess strong Excel skills with excellent written and verbal
communication.
