Job Description:
As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting reactive and planned maintenance on-site, ensuring optimal operation of plant equipment. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, your primary responsibilities will include managing mechanical repairs, carrying out fault diagnosis, and leading project initiatives aligned with both capital (CAPEX) and operational (OPEX) expenditures.
Your expertise as a Project Engineer will contribute to increased productivity, safety, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, oversee subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead CAPEX and OPEX projects, including specification, design, vendor selection, and project completion.
2. Perform preventative maintenance and address equipment breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
3. Develop and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
4. Conduct risk assessments, support audits, and implement safety improvements.
5. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic business objectives.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
1. Minimum HNC in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
2. Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively.
3. Proven ability to produce clear, technical reports.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
5. Strong project management capabilities, including working with multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable:
1. Experience in heavy engineering or manufacturing.
2. Knowledge of PLC systems and control mechanisms.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Microsoft Office applications.
4. Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
