We are looking for Systems Engineering Consultants at a range of grades, with a specialist background in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Systems and Operations, Ship/Submarine Systems, or Naval Architecture. Ideally, you will have gained experience in the HM Forces or a defence-related sector, and be accomplished in managing projects, systems and people delivering critical outputs to UK Defence.
You may have, or be working towards, a professional qualification in Engineering, Programme or Project Management; Environment, Health and Safety Management; Obsolescence and Through-Life Capability Management, and/or Quality Management and Auditing.
You will be a UK National and have, or be willing to undergo, Security Clearance to SC.
Our client provides independent technical, safety and risk management services to a number of highly regulated environments including nuclear, defence, industry, aviation and rail.
About the Role
With a proven track-record of effective working as a key part of a talented team of highly experienced and self-motivated professional engineers, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for delivery across complex, hazardous projects in a highly regulated fields, such as nuclear, maritime, aviation or ordnance. Capable of working with minimal supervision, the Senior Engineer is able to lead small teams of peers to deliver clearly defined, yet complex, technical projects. The successful candidate will have the ability to think strategically, applying their knowledge to a range of new technical challenges, whilst ensuring good partnerships and quality assurance are maintained.
The Job Duties
Empowers teams of engineers to deliver technical aspects of a project
Capable of collaborative working with minimal supervision
Undertake activities as directed by Technical Directors and Principal Engineers
Conduct complex technical investigations
Articulates project outcomes across a broad stakeholder base
Provide technical guidance for peers as required
Responsible for maintaining excellent customer relations and providing quality assurance
Implement company policies
Essential Requirements
Ideally holding at least a BEng degree
Highly technically capable within own discipline
Evidence of analysing and presenting complex data
Professionally Registered as a Incorporated Engineer with the UK Engineering Council
Member of a UK Professional Engineering Institution
Committed to participating in professional development activities and own professional development
Ability to communicate at all levels
Excellent negotiation and decision making skills
