The post holder will provide a comprehensive, quality, confidential administration service in support of the Rota Co-ordinator and the Assistant Service Manager/Service Manager. Key requirements of the post are to co-ordinate and troubleshoot the Medical clinical rota ensuring that staffing levels are responsive to and reflective of the needs of the service. The role also supports the Clinic Co-ordinator with booking of rooms for OPD clinic.
The Assistant Rota Coordinator will be expected to organise their workload and co-ordinate their activities in conjunction with, and supervised by, the Rota Co-ordinator/Assistant Service Manager/Service Manager to ensure that an efficient service is provided. It is essential that the post holder is able to exercise initiative suitable to the role and is fully supportive to other colleagues in the administrative team.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide full rota management for the medical on-call rota and ward allocations, to ensure that an effective service is provided and that wards have the correct allocation of consultants and junior doctors.
2. Recording of medical staff's annual/study leave and shift changes, ensuring that cover is maintained at all times.
3. Actioning both telephone and face to face enquiries from medical staff.
4. Supporting the Clinic Co-ordinator with Out Patient Clinic management.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will provide a comprehensive, quality, confidential administration service to the Division and their team in support of the Rota Co-ordinator/Assistant Service Manager/Service Manager. Maintain constructive relationships with others, within and across Divisions and externally in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service.
Be fully conversant with all required electronic systems for correspondence, rota management, room booking and clinic management.
