History Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start A successful and ambitious secondary school in the diverse borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their thriving Humanities department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop a love of history and an understanding of the past. Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the complexities of historical events and their impact on the present. Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities. Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including primary and secondary sources, documentaries, and historical interpretations, to enhance students' understanding and engagement. Collaborating with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to providing a well-rounded education. The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in History or a closely related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 History curriculum. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for history.
