An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer on our Manufacturing Site in Runcorn. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Engineering Manager where the successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring that mechanical engineering and maintenance resources for VYNOVA Runcorn are planned, organised, and controlled to deliver compliance and support short and long-term business requirements for production.
The Runcorn Vynova Asset is currently undergoing a major investment programme, with the new plant currently undergoing commissioning. This is an excellent time to join our dynamic team as there will be substantial responsibility from day 1 as you will help drive the asset through this critical period.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensure Mechanical Codal compliance across VYNOVA Runcorn delivers completion of all plant statutory and non-statutory inspections and repairs in a timely manner.
2. Act as the Responsible Mechanical Engineer’s Nominee.
3. Provide cost control and monitoring of the asset area maintenance fixed expenses budget.
4. Provide mechanical engineering leadership for the asset area (including project, maintenance, task, and overhaul activities) to ensure delivery of plant reliability, minimisation of downtime, and drive improvements.
5. Support and coach the mechanical maintenance delivery team in the highest standards of maintenance and reliability.
6. Take ownership of civil and structural inspections.
7. Act as deputy for the VYNOVA Runcorn Maintenance and Engineering Manager as required.
8. Look to implement new standards and practices as appropriate.
9. Lead, coach, and mentor 2 Mechanical Development Engineers (direct reports).
10. Provide direction and leadership for contract resources, work package dependent, e.g., tradesmen, scaffolders, designers, inspectors, functional engineers.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer.
2. Chartered or working towards.
3. At least 10 years of experience in the chemical or oil and gas industry.
4. Experience in coaching and influencing others.
5. Competent in MS Office including O365, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
6. Full clean driving licence.
