Job summary
We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious Anaesthetist to join our well-integrated Perioperative team at Freeman Hospital. This new Consultant anaesthetic post is the result of the expansion of our surgical theatre capacity with the opening of the new Day Case Treatment Centre in October 2022. The successful candidate would provide specialist peri-operative care including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anaesthetic management and post-operative care to patients undergoing a wide range of operative procedures, with on call participation on the general theatre on call rota.
The post would be suitable for any candidate who enjoys the challenge of and has experience in the perioperative management of both major and day-case (Ambulatory) surgical cases. The Freeman is essentially an elective surgically orientated hospital that manages the following specialities: hepatobiliary, ENT, urology, vascular, general surgery and orthopaedics in medically high-risk patients. We also have an extensive robotics programme covering urology, ENT, hepatobiliary and colorectal surgeries. Experience in providing perioperative care for robotic surgical cases is not essential as in-house training will be provided if required.
