Job Description
Supporting in the management and organisation of all aspects of the racecourse operations. Ensuring all organisational, statutory and non-statutory health and safety requirements are met. Monitor and review racecourse standards and take appropriate action to rectify adverse trends. Work closely with the Clerk of the Course on specific racing/raceday responsibilities. Catering, commercial and private events equipment set ups/down and the management of all furniture and AV equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
OPERATIONS
* Support in the managing, and organising of all aspects of the racecourse’s operations, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and economically within agreed policies and procedures.
* Completion of all organisational, statutory, and non-statutory health and safety requirements as directed by the COO.
* Ensuring the highest quality standards of customer care and service delivery are achieved.
* Support in the monitoring and reviewing of the standards achieved at the racecourse, take appropriate action to rectify adverse trends identified through audit or other mechanisms.
* Support on private events to ensure that the facilities are prepared and operational ready for the hirer to utilize.
RACING
* Support in the general management of the racecourse office and racecourse operations.
* Liaise with key raceday services as directed by the Clerk of the Course
* Support in the management of the racing health and safety requirements as determined by the BHA or as directed by the Clerk of the Course.
* An essential member of the racing team on a raceday, working closely with the Clerk of the Course and undertaking any tasks as directed.
* Undertake other specific raceday roles & responsibilities, prior to and on a raceday.
* Requirement to work all racedays.
LOGISTICS
* Co-ordinate equipment set ups/downs in conjunction with the catering, commercial and private events teams ensuring all function sheet requirements are met. Including all furniture and AV Equipment.
* Assist the catering, commercial and private events teams with layouts for forthcoming events.
* Oversee the casual logistics team, ensure staff are scheduled to meet any required timelines for set ups/downs.
* Ensure all furniture is transported and stored securely, safely, and correctly so as to prevent accidents or damage. Ensure all stores remain clean and tidy.
* Ensure that all H&S requirements are followed, for example manual handling.

* Strong personality, able to deal calmly and confidently with a diverse range of customers.
* Hard working and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
* Flexible/adaptable and calm under pressure.
* Able to take on instructions and work unsupervised.
* An understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering excellent customer service.
* A can-do attitude.
* Good communication skills.
* Experience of supervising a team.
* Good time management and ability to prioritise effectively.
* Knowledge, interest in and understanding of horse racing and betting industries desirable but not essential.
ESSENTIALS
* Full UK driving license or live within walking distance
* Able to work outside normal office hours as required, including some weekends and public holidays
