Looking for a new job that's packed with satisfaction that you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as we're looking for new female colleagues to join our team in Saltcoats!
It's an exciting time for #TeamAyrshire as we have various part-time permanent roles available. We also have relief opportunities too if you're looking for something a bit more flexible.
The Role
Our service involves supporting a lady with learning disabilities and a sensory impairment who has transitioned from a long stay in hospital into her new home. You’ll assist her with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, housework, shopping, medication, personal care and finances.
We are looking for individuals that are patient and understanding; you will be dedicated to forming a great relationship with this lady and the rest of the team to ensure that she is able to live as independently as possible. With your support, this lady will be able to maintain her own home and get back to enjoying her local community. You’ll also support and encourage her with any of her hobbies and interests too.
About you
Here at Cornerstone, we recruit on values and transferable skills; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
What we need you to bring:
1. A caring attitude and approach
2. Good communication skills
3. An understanding of the importance of following guidelines and routines
4. A positive approach to learning
5. Confidence in the use of computers
6. The ability to cook
Shift Patterns
As we're dedicated to providing around-the-clock support tailored to the needs of each individual, shift patterns will involve working 10:00-10:00 the next day (includes a sleepover). Weekends and public holidays will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.
Our sleepovers do not form part of your contracted hours; you will receive an additional payment of £96 for each sleepover that you work!
Have any questions? If you'd like to find out more, please contact Steven Giffney on 07929713062.
A job at Cornerstone is more than just a job. You'll make a difference every day, be part of a great team, learn lots of new skills and be encouraged and inspired to reach your potential. What are you waiting for? Apply today! We'd love to hear from you.
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
*For these positions, female is an Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
